Pool and Hot Tub Safety Tips
Chemical Safety
- Always add chemicals to water, NEVER add water to the chemical!
- Keep chemicals out of the reach of children and pets
- Store chemicals in a cool, dry well ventilated location out of direct sunlight
- Keep lids securely in place at all times
- Do not reuse chemical containers for other uses
- Never mix chemicals together
- Do not smoke when handling or adding chemicals to the pool
- Wash your hands with soap and water after using chemicals
Swimmer Safety
- Constantly supervise children while around/in the pool
- Pool deck should be kept clean and clear of debris
- Decks should be non-slip
- All glasses and dishes should be non-breakable
- No running or rough play around the pool
- NO DIVING into shallow water, check the water depth before considering diving into the pool
- If your pool is equipped with a vinyl safety cover keep it closed when the pool is not in use or needs to be open for chemical applications
- If your pool is equipped with a vinyl safety cover be sure to pump off any rain water as it accumulates, water on the cover is just as dangerous as no cover. Most manufacturers provide a pump with the cover.
- Alcohol and water does not mix, be responsible
